Description

Delta 506 is an exceptional anaerobic thread sealant that delivers superior locking and sealing of metal threaded pipes and fittings. Designed to cure spontaneously and rapidly when confined in the absence of air between close metal surfaces with a small gap fill, this high-performance sealant is ideal for use in a wide range of industrial and automotive applications.

Delta 506 comes packaged in a unique ‘concertina’ pack for easy application. The thixotropic nature of the product, coupled with a relatively fast cure, provides excellent characteristics for production of ‘in situ’ seals. This product is recommended for use on air brake systems, water pipes, oil fuel, and most commonly encountered industrial fluids. The cured product delivers resistance to pressure, vibration, shock, and extremes of temperature.

The uncured adhesive properties of Delta 506 are impressive, with a nature Methacrylic resin, white appearance, viscosity of 30.000/60.000 mPa.s, specific gravity of 1.07, and flash point of over 100°C.

Delta 506 is part of the Anaerobic adhesives Gasket & Sealing Series, which is renowned for its exceptional quality and performance. The curing properties of Delta 506 are dependent on two main factors, the type of materials used and the ambient temperature. The speed of cure will vary depending on the ambient temperature, with low temperatures slowing the cure times and higher temperatures speeding up the cure.

Tests carried out on different types of metals, according to ISO 10964, show that the strength developed with time is impressive. The following data refers to tests carried out at 22°C, after 24 hours: Breakaway Torque, ISO 10964 20/28 N.m and Prevail Torque, ISO 10964 10/15 N.m. The temperature range for Delta 506 is between -50°C to +150°C, with a maximum gap fill of 0.30mm.

To ensure the longevity of Delta 506, it should be stored in a cool, dry place in unopened containers at a room temperature between 5°C to 25°C. It is important not to return any unused material in its original container. Delta 506 is classified as Xi irritant, and as such, it is crucial to keep it out of reach of children.
