Description
The 6 MM Twinseal Leader Plug Tyre Puncture Repair Wired Plug Patches Mushroom (40PCS) is a reliable and easy-to-use method for repairing punctures in the tread area of radial and cross ply passenger and truck tyres. With these plug patches, you can quickly and effectively repair perforations and get your tyre back on the road.
To use these plug patches, follow these instructions:
- Locate and mark the perforation on the outside of the tyre.
- Remove the tyre from the vehicle and mark the puncture on the inside.
- Extract any perforating objects from the puncture and clean the surrounding area with a damp cloth.
- Note the angle of penetration.
- Once you have assessed the extent of the damage, choose the appropriate “plug patch” and drill out the puncture to the appropriate size from the inside at the correct angle (drilling speed should be between 1500 and 5000rpm).
- Draw a circle slightly larger than the “plug patch”.
- Lightly buff the area until the curing bladder pattern disappears (buffing speed should be between 1500 and 5000rpm). Remove any dust that is generated.
- Squeeze a generous amount of vulcanizing cement into the puncture hole and spread the solution over the buffed area. Leave the cement to dry for 5 minutes.
- Remove the protective foil from the patch. Do not touch the gum surface.
- Insert the plug taper metal inset into the puncture hole from the inside.
- Pull the metal inset through smoothly and locate the plug taper without tugging on the stem.
- Roll the patch down from the center outwards.
- Once the tyre has been refilled and inflated, cut off the excess plug rubber (on the sidewall, leave 1 or 2mm for rivet consolidation effect).
- The repair work is now complete and the tyre can be returned to service without delay.
Remember to always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and use caution when repairing a tyre. Proper tyre repair is essential for the safety of the vehicle and its occupants.
